p h i l o s o p h y This site is intended to illustrate my interests, accomplishments, and skills in art and architecture.  The works included are transient seeds representing my pursuit of what may be called a "Social Architecture."  It is my belief that the hierarchies and interconnections of a society are evident within its built environment.  Architecture, therefore serves as a literal manifestation of social structure, which cements the existing societal order.  Because of this, architecture is important as a tool for expressing social behavior and, most importantly, for creating social change.  These, of course, are not new concepts.  They are found in, but not limited to, Frank Lloyd Wright's ideas of organic and social architecture, in Japan's Metabolism movement, and in Dutch Architect Wiel Arets writings.  However, it is my opinion that these principles have not been effective enough in modern society.  As Walt Whitman once said, "I mourn a world that has not disappeared, but one that has failed to reach its inherent potential."  My work is an exploration attempting to explore this architectural philosophy and reveal its “inherent potential” in today’s society.  This means an architecture that is not only socially viable, but one that is inherently economical and environmentally friendly as well.  This pursuit, of social change, has recently led me to focus my efforts on Sustainable Architecture.  In 2006, I completed the Master’s Program for Energy Performance and Climate-Responsive Architecture at Arizona State University.  There I gained valuable tools and resources to advance towards developing a new Social Architecture.  It is my desire now to continue to learn and to collaborate with others who share my passion for a Sustainable/Social Architecture.
t a l k Communication is essential for continuing education in the professional architecture world.  Therefore, I encourage connections be developed through constructive interest, questions and/or comments about my work or simply about architecture in general.  So please feel free to contact me with such.
